Stonevoice SkyStone Quick Guide
Requirements
Stonevoice™ SkyStone v1.x needs a Skype™ client installed on the same PC/Server. Please download the recommended version of Skype™ here.
Please install Skype before installing SkyStone. You need Internet Connectivity for SkyStone to properly login Skype clients. Disable any firewall which may block or limit Skype™ access to the web or SkyStone access to the telephony subnet.
SkyStone v1.x supports both H.323 and SIP and is already configured to:
- Call your IP Phones from Skype accounts
- Call Skype accounts from your IP Phones
- Call PSTN through Skype OUT from your IP Phones
The first step is logging in through the web interface available any browser (recommended Internet Explorer or FireFox):
http://<skystone server ip>:7505/
where <skystone server ip> is the SkyStone machine IP address in our example. Default username/password: admin/admin
Quick Application Setup: H323 Protocol
1) Log into the web interface.
2) On Definitions->H.323 patterns modify the "IP Phone test" (1000) entry with a valid phone number and relative IP-PBX IP address (e.g.: 1000@10.1.1.1) to receive call on it.
3) On Definitions->Skype patterns modify the Company Main Skype Account from yourcompany-h.com to the one you created and logged in through the First Run configuration wizard (i.e. during package setup). Remind this must be the same you configured during the First Run configuration wizard.
4) (Optional) If you want to be able to call PSTN phones through SkyStone, you need to add credit to the skype account assigned in Step 3.
5) You need now to add a route to your IP-PBX system to send calls starting with number 8 to SkyStone IP address and accept calls from SkyStone. Parameters are:
- Protocol: H.323
- Codec: G.711 u-law or a-law
- DTMF relay H.245-alpha
Specific configuration examples are available on the SkyStone System Guide.
Having done these few steps, you are now able to test SkyStone. You can:
- Call from any of your IP Phones the number 8100 to be connected to the test Skype account echo123.
- Call from any of your IP Phones the number 8200390297482200 to be connected to the PSTN number 00390297482200 (Stonevoice offices) as the prefix 82 will be automatically stripped out.
- Call the skype account you configured in Step 3 from any skype account and call will be connected to the IP Phone you configured in Step 2.
Quick Application Setup: SIP Protocol
1) To enable the SIP protocol, you need to specify the SkyStone machine IP address in Settings->SIP parameters->BindedIPAddresses field (127.0.0.1 or localhost are not accepted).
2) On Definitions->SIP patterns modify the "IP Phone test" (2000) entry with a valid phone number and related IP-PBX IP address (ex: 2000@10.1.1.1) to receive call on it.
3) On Definitions->Skype patterns modify the Company Main skype account from yourcompany-s.com to the one you created and logged in through the First Run configuration wizard (i.e. during package setup). Remind this must be the same you configured during the First Run configuration wizard.
4) (Optional) If you want to be able to call PSTN phones through SkyStone, you need to add credit to the skype account assigned in Step 3.
